Pediatric Department
The Paediatrics Department of KG Hospital is a Premier Tertiary level department since it takes care of both preventive and curative aspects of children's health. The services offered include general out-patient and in-patient care and pediatric surgical services for children of all age groups, including newborn care.
Paediatric Surgical work includes management of all birth defects and diseases specific to children as well. Paediatric Laparoscopic Surgery is the highlight of this Institution. It leads in this field in the country as it was first started here and it acts as a training centre for Paediatric Laparoscopy.Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children and Pediatricians often have to treat the parents and sometimes, the family, rather than just the child.
All high-risk deliveries are attended by one of the paediatricians who is well – trained in Neonatal resuscitation of babies. All newborns are screened under "New Born Screening Programme" for the presence of any treatable congenital abnormalities.The Paediatric Department also has a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where sick newborns are taken care of. This unit is fully equipped with Radiant Warmer, Incubator and Phototherapy unit.
